I had my first trip back to see my psychologist today. That went really well. It also helps that the sun is shining and it's pretty out, a stark contrast from the rest of the days lately. What I'm trying to say is, I think today is awesome.

We put up the old posters from Morgan today. The art ones are in the living room, Johnny Depp is in the hallway, and Tori Amos is in my bedroom (where she belongs). Having these posters up makes me feel like a little piece of Morgan is still here in the house. Not in a literal, creepy way.

Anne and I also created "Suggested New Year's Eve Resolutions for LaFrance" - a long, long list of ways to keep the house cleaner. Basically all of our pet peeves smushed onto a whiteboard, saving space for Fenway and the Q. We tried really hard to phrase them positively and not single anyone out. I don't know if it'll actually do any good but it was fun doing the dishes and dictating resolutions to Anne while giggling, rather than doing dishes and bitching silently to myself (or to Anne) about how annoying it is that other people don't do as much as they should. We joked about writing "I will remember that Betsy and Anne are not my maids" but decided against it.

I have had the best break from school - possibly the best ever. I start this coming Tuesday and I'm looking forward to a new semester, but I have had so much fun over the past couple of weeks.

I did have bad news come my way yesterday - that my aunt had to go to the hospital because one of her lungs collapsed. This was, of course, alarming and upsetting, but made all the worse because she's my aunt on my dad's side of the family and a Great Divide has happened between the two sides over the past year. So last night I sort of had to play the part of family liasion and run up to the hospital in Canton to make sure everything was all right and then report back to my mom and sister that my aunt seems to be doing ok, and pass along all the information I received. It's a really uncomfortable position to be in and I hope that it doesn't stay this way. My aunt seems to be doing well, though. They did a scan and found that there are no tumors. Probably time to quit smoking, Aunt Terry.

On that note, I'm carefully considering quitting smoking. Yes, again. I'm always cautious about this topic because quitting is SO HARD. It's so important, though. I'm trying to come up with a really good plan for it and I'm going to talk to my psychologist about it next week. I feel like maybe now that a lot of my grief counseling and anxiety counseling has taken effect, I can focus on this a little better. Maybe. We'll see. I'm nervous just thinking about it.

I got some picture frames from my sister for Christmas and I've been filling them slowly. There's one that I put the little drawing I bought from Morgan's gallery in. Today I put a picture of my nephews and a picture of my dad next to a hot air balloon in one of the double frames. I really like the effect of the combination of those three pictures on my dresser. It took a lot of hunting to find a picture of just my dad (not with my mom or me) without a cigarette in his hand. But this one is perfect.

No update of my life could be complete without this tidbit of information: ferrets poop SO MUCH. Though I'm getting used to it, I'm still amazed on a nearly daily basis by just how much shit is created by those little weasels.

Kenny just discovered that he could download a map of the organization of the Serbian Congress. He's more excited about this than I think he should be.

I'm going to play Wii.
